Dinosaur Provincial Park Guided Hike

Join Royal Tyrrell Museum palaeontologist Dr. Caleb Brown and two science educators on a guided hike to fossil sites in the Palaeontological Preserve at Dinosaur Provincial Park ("DPP"), Alberta. Learn about the significance of these localities, why we find so many fossils here, and what makes DPP a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will also have the oportunity to prospect for fossils!

 

Ages 16+

Cost: $95.00 per person + GST

Time: 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

 

Note: This program is not suitable for people wih mobility limitations. Participants must be able to hike up to 4 km over very difficult terrain. This physically demanding adventure will push your limits and leave you with lasting memories.

 

Space is limited, Registration is open to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. This program is co-presented by the Royal Tyrrell Museum and Dinosaur Provincial Park.

 

Additional booking information:

  • This program is for ages 16+, Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program. Any guests arriving for this experience with children/infants will not be admitted. No refunds will be provided.
  • Tickets are only available for purchase in advance and can be bought online.
  • We will meet at the Dinosaur Provincial Park Visitor Centre, 48 km northeast of Brooks.
  • Participants are asked to bring their own food and drink for the day (including 2 L of water).
  • Participants are asked to dress for the weather conditions (hat, hiking shoes, sunscreen).
  • Rock-solid footwear is mandatory: sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots with closed toes and closed heels. No sandals, flip-flops, or Crocs.
  • We also recommend you bring sunglasses, hiking poles, and insect repellent.
  • This event is not accessible. The experience requires participants to hike up to 4 km over uneven terrain and elevation changes.
  • Cancellation may occur due to dangrous weather events such as extreme heat or rain.
