Join Royal Tyrrell Museum palaeontologist Dr. Francois Therrien and two science educators on a guided hike to the Albertosaurus bonebed in Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park, Alberta. Learn about the fossil site where the remains of at least 12 Albertosaurus dinosaurs were discovered buried together, forming the scientific basis for one of the Royal Tyrrell Museum's most popular exhibits, the Cretaceous Alberta diorama.

Note: This tour is to an inactive dig site. The program will feature educational information relating to the historical excavations and fossil discoveries made there over the course of a centruy (1910-2010).

Space is limited. Registration is open to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additional booking information:

• This is an adults-only program (18+). Any guests arriving for this experience with children/infants will not be admitted. No refunds will be provided.
• Tickets are only available for purchase in advance and can be bought online.
• We will meet at Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park in the Day Use Area Parking Lot (at river level).
• Participants are asked to bring their own food and drink for the day (including 2L of water).
• Participants are asked to dress for the weather conditions (hat, hiking shoes, sunscreen).
• We also recommend you bring sunglasses, hiking poles, and insect repellent.
• This event is not accessible. The experience requires participants to hike a distance of 5.6 km through uneven terrain, including an elevation gain of 52m.
