Photographs

The Provincial Archives of Alberta actively collects photographs that preserve the visual heritage of Alberta. The PAA holds millions of photographs documenting the visual history of the province. These photos are available for purchase. Copyright restrictions may apply to photographs being used for publication, public exhibition and commercial use, etc.

72dpi - ARCHIVES PHOTO REPRODUCTION

A low resolution, 72 dpi digital file suitable for website usage - only available as an 8"x10".

100dpi - ARCHIVES PHOTO REPRODUCTION

A lower resolution, 100 dpi print or digital image that is used to show the main content of an image.

300dpi - ARCHIVES PHOTO REPRODUCTION

A resolution of 300 dpi print or digital image, good for publication.

 

 

600dpi - ARCHIVES PHOTO REPRODUCTION

These 600dpi photo reproductions are a high grade resolution used when creating large posters or where a fine detail is required. Not recommended for printed copies.
