Maps and Plans

The cartographic holdings of the Provincial Archives of Alberta are comprised almost entirely of maps of Alberta. However, in order to establish some perspective on the province in relation to its neighbours, a small selection of maps of adjacent provinces, territories and American states (includiong British Columbia, the Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Montana) are also maintained. The earliest original map included in the Provincial Archives' holdings dates from 1770 and shows the extent of the British possessions in North America. Please contact the Archives (780-427-1750) for further information about this service and when you would like to place an order.
