FULL CONDITION REPORT/TREATMENT PROPOSAL

In order to start any Conservation Services, a Full Condition Report and Treatment Proposal must be completed prior to any conservation work.

 

A Conservation Agreement must be signed by the client and the Archives Retail Services Coordinator in order to leave any items at the PAA.

GENERAL CONSERVATION SERVICES, RATE PER HOUR OF TECHNICIAN TIME

Once we have completed your Full Condition Report and Treatment Proposal you will see what conservation work is required for each item and any additional work we would recommend for preseving your items.

General Conservation Services include but are not limited to:

-encapsulation/custom enclosure

-custom housing

-mould remediation (vaccuuming, freezing)

-sample removal

-dry cleaning (eraser, brushing)

-humidification and flattening

Please note that some of these services may require additional fees for materials and labour.

 

GENERAL RESEARCH, PER HOUR OF RESEARCH TIME

General Research is completed by contract researchers of the PAA. In order to do research on the client's behalf the researcher will need as much information about the research project as possible. The client will authorize a certain amount of hours and if the researcher cannot finish the project in the allotted time then the client will be notified to see they would like to add additional hours. Charges will not exceed the authorized amount of time but may fall below this time.

Homestead searches are completed by contract researchers of the PAA. Please provide as much information as possible as this will affect the amount of time required for the search. Fees range from $30.00 to $50.00; cost dependent on the level of research required to completed the request.
