PUBLICATION REPRINT WHATS WRONG WITH COMIC BOOKS

A reprinted publication from the Advisory Board on Objectionable Publications from the 1950s to 1970s. This board was part of the Alberta Government and was censoring comic books and magazines because they believed that children were being corrupted and turned towards crime.

 

This booklet was reporduced for pure enjoyment and a comical read that describes our history.

This 300 piece felt board puzzle features photo A3989, an archival image of Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park taken by mountaineer and photographer Joe Weiss in 1940.

SEEDS - BOUNTIFUL BEAN

This bean has a Canadian heritage! In 1897, Abel Steele from Ferguson, Ontario won a reward for naming this newly-introduced variety. Touted for its hardiness and productivity (hence the name), it produces 6-7 inch long stringless pods.

SEEDS - CHANTENAY RED CORED CARROT

Delicious, large carrots are 5-7" long with wide shoulders and are red-orange in colour. Crisp and sweet, they are good for growing in heavy soils and sweeten even more in storage.

SEEDS - COCOZELLE ZUCCHINI

This Italian heirloom zucchini has a small bush growing habit, so is perfect in small gardens. It produces large numbers of beautiful fruits that are dark green with light green stripes and that are prized for slicing, frying, and steaming. This is also a great variety for freezing and canning.
