PANORAMIC PHOTO BOOKMARK

Featuring a hand-coloured photo of the Columbia Icefield from 1964 (Photo PR1991.0374.0617) on one side and a black and white image from the 100th Anniversary of the Edmonton Police Force in 1992 (Photo PR1996.0404.0001) on the other, this bookmark celebrates the panoramic photo collection from the Provincial Archives of Alberta.

The bookmark measures two inches wide by eight inches long.

 

PANORAMIC PHOTO TRINKET TRAY

Featuring an archival photo of Calgary from the 1940s (Photo P4720), this trinket tray is as lovely as it is functional. Place this tray on your desk to hold stationery or use it on your dresser to hold jewellry, keys, or other odds and ends. It can also be used as a serving tray as it is certified food-safe.

The tray measures 12.7 cm wide by 17.8 cm long.

PUBLICATION REPRINT WHATS WRONG WITH COMIC BOOKS

A reprinted publication from the Advisory Board on Objectionable Publications from the 1950s to 1970s. This board was part of the Alberta Government and was censoring comic books and magazines because they believed that children were being corrupted and turned towards crime.

 

This booklet was reporduced for pure enjoyment and a comical read that describes our history.

A 300 piece felt-board puzzle featuring photo A13902, an archival image of downtown Edmonton taken by photographer Esther N. Kelly in 1920.

 

PUZZLE - MOUNTAINS

This 300 piece feltboard puzzle features photo A3989, an archival image of Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park taken by mountaineer and photographer Joe Weiss in 1940.

SEEDS - BOUNTIFUL BEAN

This bean has a Canadian heritage! In 1897, Abel Steele from Ferguson, Ontario won a reward for naming this newly-introduced variety. Touted for its hardiness and productivity (hence the name), it produces 6-7 inch long stringless pods.

SEEDS - CHANTENAY RED CORED CARROT

Delicious, large carrots are 5-7" long with wide shoulders and are red-orange in colour. Crisp and sweet, they are good for growing in heavy soils and sweeten even more in storage.

SEEDS - COCOZELLE ZUCCHINI

This Italian heirloom zucchini has a small bush growing habit, so is perfect in small gardens. It produces large numbers of beautiful fruits that are dark green with light green stripes and that are prized for slicing, frying, and steaming. This is also a great variety for freezing and canning.

TEA LIGHT CANDLE HOLDER

Create a cozy glow this winter a tea light candle holder! A round white porcelain candle holder printed with an image (Photo OCH3456) from the Provincial Archives of Alberta photo collection is perfect for holding your favourite standard-sized tea light. The holders measure three inches in diameter and two inches tall and comes with one unscented white tea light.

TEA TOWEL - ROBIN

This classic white cotton tea towel is adorned with an image of a robin from Nature Study, a field guide that was compiled by the Alberta Council of the Canadian Girl Guides Association (PR1968.0073/103). Featuring a full colour image and accompanying informative text about the songbird, this machine washable tea towel is sure to brighten up your kitchen! Each of these unique tea towels is made in Vancouver, British Columbia from one hundred percent cotton and measures 23 inches by 19 inches.
