Vital Statistics Request
Effective December 13, 2020, the Provincial Archives of Alberta is temporarily closed. Stronger health measures come into effect province wide at 12:01 a.m. on December 13.
Vital Statistics records can be requested during this time, though a slight delay beyond the normal turnaround time could be experienced.
Birth, marriage and death records are called Vital Statistics. Each vital statistic record must be ordered separately. We have records for:
Birth: 120 years or older
Marriage: 75 years or older
Death: 50 years or older
Stillbirth: 75 years or older

The Provincial Archives of Alberta provides access to birth records that are 120 years or older (from the date of birth).
