Homestead Searches

Homesteading refers to a specific means of acquiring land in Western Canada.Homestead application files are particularly useful in identifying how long a family has worked a certain quarter section of land. Do you need information and cannot do the research yourself? The Archives can provide homestead searches for a fee.

GENERAL RESEARCH

General Research is completed by contract researchers of the PAA. The client will authorize a certain amount of hours and if the researcher cannot finish the project in the allotted time then the client will be notified to see they would like to add additional hours.

HOMESTEAD SEARCH

Homestead searches are completed by a contract researcher. Charges will not exceed the authorized amount of time but may fall below this time.
