Canada Strong Pass:

Provincial Museums and heritage sites operated by the Government of Alberta, including the Royal Tyrrell Museum, are participating in the Canada Strong Pass this summer. Until September 2, 2025 children and youth 17 and under receive free general admission. Young adults aged 18 to 24 receive a 50% discount off regular admission when they show valid photo I.D. at the time of entry. Advance tickets can be purchased online at full price, and the applicable refund will be issued upon arrival when payment card and valid photo I.D. are presented.

Ticket only valid for date selected. Arrival within half-hour ticket window guarantees entry at that time. If you arrive earlier or later than your ticket time, you may be permitted immediate entry subject to availability.

You may enter the Museum any time within your arrival window. For example, purchasing a ticket for 10:30 allows you entry between 10:30 -10:59.

Members, to book your Advance tickets, use the email linked to your membership or contact our Membership Department at membership@tyrrellmuseum.ca.

Individuals eligible for other discounts must purchase advance tickets online at full price. On the day you visit, you will need to present your pass/card and payment card at the entrance to receive the applicable refund.

Your tickets are emailed to you. Please print them at home or present them to staff on your electronic device.

Cancellation policy - full refund on cancellations made 24 hours or more in advance of the admission time and no refunds on cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. To cancel, call (403) 820-6246.

Please Note: Construction and lane closures on the Gordon Taylor Bridge between downtown Drumheller and the Museum will cause traffic delays on Highway 56 from March 31-September 30, 2025. (less)

Make your own fossil replica, discover why casts are important to the Museum, and learn the differences between fossils and casts during this 45-minute indoor workshop.

Ages 4+: Adult: $10 (18 and over), Child $10 (4-17)

Adult Supervision: Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a registered adult. All people attending the program will pay the program fee. There will be no unpaid adults to assist their children, and all adults are permitted to make a cast.

Caution: Silicone moulds are used in the making of the casts.

This program is delivered in a lab setting using dental plaster which sometimes settles to the floor, so for health and safety reasons toddlers under the age of 4 are not allowed in the room. Program content is intended for ages 4+.

To secure your spot, advance registration is recommended.
