Homestead Searches

Homesteading refers to a specific means of acquiring land in Western Canada.Homestead application files are particularly useful in identifying how long a family has worked a certain quarter section of land. Do you need information and cannot do the research yourself? The Archives can provide homestead searches for a fee.

HOMESTEAD SEARCH

Please supply the correct and complete legal land description (quarter, section, township, range and meridian) and the name of the homestead applicant. Fees range from $30.00 to $50.00; cost of service is dependent on the the level of reseach required to complete the client request. The client will be refunded if additional research is not required. Searches can take up to 15 business days.
