The Provincial Archives of Alberta collects photographs that preserve the visual heritage of Alberta. The PAA holds millions of photographs documenting the history of the province. You can search for photos in our extensive collection in person at the PAA or online at: https://searchprovincialarchives.alberta.ca

Copyright restrictions may apply to photographs being used for publication, public exhibition and commercial use, etc.

72 DPI - ARCHIVES PHOTO REPRODUCTION

A low resolution, 72 DPI digital file suitable for website use. Available only as an 8" x 10".

100 DPI - ARCHIVES PHOTO REPRODUCTION

A lower resolution, 100 DPI print or digital image that is used to show the main content of an image.

300 DPI - ARCHIVES PHOTO REPRODUCTION

A resolution of 300 DPI for a print or digital image, good for publication.

 

 

600 DPI - ARCHIVES PHOTO REPRODUCTION

These 600 DPI photo reproductions are a high grade resolution used when creating large posters or where fine detail is required. Not recommended for printed copies.
